Whether we like it or even acknowledge it - we all have some jewelry which has ethnic or regional background. This is more common than you might think, and has nothing to do with the gifts and silver trinkets picked up from our last holiday to Mexico or Italy or Bali.
It has more to do with the influence that traditional design has over modern jewelry.

The delicate interwoven brooches from Asia and India have been copied and coveted, collected and consumed by millions throughout the centuries. They are still desirable today and we marvel at their dainty designs and wonder just how they were made. The Japanned treasures are quite exquisite.
Some of the more collectible items are the Celtic Designs which flow in and out of fashion - yet are most prized by antique dealers and traders. They have a timeless quality, but with some magical mystic which makes us all want to wear it in some jewelry form or another.

Being a Celt, this has an extra and very personal attraction for me, as the typical Celtic Cross designs were normal around our churches and chapels - on Gravestones and Markers.
The Native American designs too, fall into that same category, and hold a sense of aw when we see a rare piece as opposed to some of the gaudy tourist jewelry sometimes seen in the markets of America.
Finally the designs which may have had the most influence are those with an Egyptian origin. I truly hope you enjoy these collections of ethnic and Traditional regional designer jewelry
